Crow's respect for the melding of form and function comes from long
experience in the realities of nature.
His first career was as a sailor.
He grew up sailing on inlets in the Olympic
Peninsula and eventually sailed with National Geographic whaling expeditions.
Crow learned electronics in the Navy and studied architecture at Evergreen
College. When he returned to the Pacific Northwest he started a co-op
shipwright and artist's studio. He apprenticed under a master sculptor
who was also a builder, and eventually designed and built his own
staircases, rooms, and house renovations. He now lives in the Bay Area with his
wife and son and works as a designer, builder, and architectural sculptor.
